Privacy Policy
Tarnished Labs ("we", "us") builds software products and services. This policy covers all Tarnished Labs products and websites. It explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. We keep it in plain English on purpose.
What we collect
Information you give us. When you fill out a form on one of our websites, a lead form on a social platform, book an appointment, or contact us, we may collect your name, email address, phone number, business name, and related details you choose to share. When you become a customer, we also collect billing information (processed by our payment provider; we never see or store your full card number).
Information collected automatically. Our websites may collect standard technical data such as IP address, browser type, pages visited, and referral source (including campaign tags on links you click). We use it to see how people find us and to keep our sites working.
Publicly available information. For outreach, we may collect contact details that businesses publish on their own websites, such as a public contact email address.
How we use it
- To respond to you and follow up about our products, early access programs, and offers you expressed interest in
- To provide and improve our products and services
- To process payments and manage subscriptions
- To send occasional emails about our products; every marketing email includes a way to opt out
- To understand which of our pages and campaigns are working
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.
Who we share it with
We use a small set of service providers to run the business, and they only process data on our behalf: payment processing (Stripe), database and hosting infrastructure (Neon, Vercel), email and scheduling (Google Workspace), and advertising platforms (Meta) when you submit one of our lead forms there. Meta's own data policy also applies to information you provide on their platforms.
We may disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights, users, or the public.
Customer data inside our products
If you use a Tarnished Labs product, the records you enter about your own customers or members belong to you. We process that data only to provide the service, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not sell it. Individuals should direct questions about their records to the business that holds them. Our products are designed for use by adults; we do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13.
How long we keep it
We keep lead and contact information as long as we have an active relationship or a reasonable expectation of one, and we delete or anonymize it when it is no longer needed. If you ask us to remove you, we suppress your contact information from future outreach.
Your choices and rights
- Opt out of emails: use the unsubscribe link in any marketing email, or reply and tell us to stop. We honor it.
- Access, correct, or delete your data: email us and we will handle it. Depending on where you live (including under laws such as the CCPA and GDPR), you may have specific legal rights to access, correct, delete, or port your data, and we will honor valid requests.
- Do not track: our sites do not respond differently to browser DNT signals. We keep tracking minimal either way.
Security
We use reputable infrastructure providers, encryption in transit, and access controls to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, so we also limit what we collect in the first place.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date above and post the new version at this page. Material changes affecting customers will be communicated by email.
