Software Forged
in the Dark
We break it. improve it. You get better software, every time.
The Philosophy Behind the Work
"Build cool things. Solve real problems.
Have a blast doing it.
That's the whole plan."
Built to Work
If it doesn't make the product better, it doesn't ship. Clean, functional, real. The kind of software you recommend to a friend without a disclaimer.
Driven by the Idea
We don't need permission or a committee sign-off. If an idea is cool and something people actually need, we're already thinking about how to build it.
Forged to Last
Tarnished doesn't mean broken. It means worn in, tested by fire and still standing. That's what we build. Tools that endure.
Cool Projects in the Pipeline
A handful of ideas we couldn't leave alone, so we built them. Some live, some brewing. All built because they should exist.

We build for spaces underserved by big software. If you have a real problem that deserves a better solution, reach out. We want to hear it.
niclock@tarnishedlabs.comOne person. Evenings. Lots of coffee. Building things that should exist.
Tarnished Labs is Nic Lockleair building software he thinks the world needs. Not everything comes from lived experience. Some of it just comes from looking at a space and thinking "this deserves something better than what's out there." That's enough to start forging.
The name comes from something simple: tarnished doesn't mean broken. It means real. It means you've been through the fire and you're still here, still forging, still swinging.
"Not all flames consume. Some endure."
